QT023 - Configuring the Bigpond Cable login client on the FVS318

Introduction

This Quick Tip describes how to configure the built-in Bigpond Cable login client on the FVS318.

Detail

The Bigpond Cable login client is officially supported in Release 1.10 of the FVS318 firmware.  Refer to Quick Tip 024 for download instructions.

To use the built-in login client, you need to follow these steps:

• Upgrade the router to firmware version 1.10 or later

• Reset the router's configuration to factory defaults, from the Settings Backup page on the router's Maintenance menu.   (This step is essential)

• Re-enter your configuration, using the Setup Wizard if desired.

• Configure the Bigpond Cable login client on the Basic Settings page in the router's Setup menu.

Answer Yes to the question Does your internet connection require a login.  Select Bigpond Cable in the Internet Service Provide Name dropdown.  Set the Account Name to anything desired, eg FVS318. 

Leave the Login Server field blank.  Enter your Bigpond Cable username and password.  Accept the defaults for the remaining items on this page.

Click Apply, then reboot the router.
