QT051 - DG814 and OzEmail ADSL

Introduction

Some users have reported problems with using the DG814 ADSL Modem/Router with firmware version 4.3 on the OzEmail ADSL service.  These problems have been fixed in firmware version 4.4.

Detail

DG814's currently ship with version 4.3 firmware.  While this version works well on other Australian ADSL services, some users have reported problems with the OzEmail ADSL service.

The problem most commonly reported is the inability to browse certain websites.  While most websites will display correctly, some will not be rendered correctly or not displayed at all.  Some users have also reported difficulty in collecting email from the OzEmail pop server.

The firmware bug causing this problem has been corrected in version 4.4, which is now available.  Refer to Quick Tip 050 for download details.
